Troop training - ground Heidehof (near Jüterbog)
Trigger -happy Ivans are a delight,
but if they hit houses, that´s not so bright.
Russian soldiers from the training -ground
raised hell often, it was found.
When they fired, they often shot
at villages, at the target, not.
The families Dolke and Dominik
and others too, found it rather sick
and moaned to the boss of the SED.
But into their ears then thundered he:
„Whoever moans -for everyone this goes -,
gets a punch right on the nose,
and goes, if not straight in the can,
then into a rabbit – hutch in Marzahn.“
Once, far on the area's rim
Stuelpe lay again under shellfire grimm.
The splinters whizzed the street along.
Then even the hardboiled knew this was wrong.
The Area Council was called then up:
„Come here at once; this madness stop!“
The Chairman sent out a Stasi force.
Just then, the Russian made a pause.
The lieutenant was red in the face. „Look“, cried he,
„there 's nothing to hear and nothing to see!
You Stuelpers behind your curtains and blinds,
with your woebegone looks; I find
you want to run us around by the nose“.
Crump! The noise of explosions again arose;
splinters buzzed through the air. Full of fear,
the Stasi threw themselves in the mud, Oh dear!,
and lay on the Liessen road in this state
literally at the Stuelpers' feet.
For them, an improvement would have been wished.
But they still had a good laugh behind their fists!
